# GaSP v2 and the new Imagine Theme!

## [GaSP v2 and the new Imagine Theme!](https://stevenjaycohen.com/journal/gasp-v2-and-the-new-imagine-theme)

    2nd Aug 2012 [design](https://stevenjaycohen.com/tag:design#body-wrapper) [gasp](https://stevenjaycohen.com/tag:gasp#body-wrapper) [software](https://stevenjaycohen.com/tag:software#body-wrapper) [web](https://stevenjaycohen.com/tag:web#body-wrapper)

Over the last few weeks, I have completely rebuilt [GaSP](https://code.google.com/p/gasp-web-engine/) (both the front and back ends).

[![gasp-admin](https://stevenjaycohen.com/user/pages/files/2014/03/gasp-admin.gif?ssl=1)](https://stevenjaycohen.com/files/2014/03/gasp-admin.gif?ssl=1)It is now fast, secure, and intuitive, while keeping the [source code](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_code "Source code") easily readable (Hey, I spent too many years as an educator for that **not** to be one of my goals). All of the changes inspired me to build a new theme, so may I present Imagine![![imagine](/files/2014/03/imagine.gif?resize=580%2C309&ssl=1)](https://stevenjaycohen.com/user/pages/files/2014/03/imagine.gif?ssl=1)I took the picture earlier this year on a trip to \[New York\](https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=43.0,-75.0&spn=3.0,3.0&q=43.0,-75.0 (New%20York)&t=h "New York") with my daughter. I really liked the interplay of lines and patterns and have been looking for an interesting way to use the image. Here, I have used [CSS 3](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascading_Style_Sheets "Cascading Style Sheets") border radius and shadow along with [font embedding](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Font_embedding "Font embedding") to build a theme that feels like it flows with the picture. If you load the site on your mobile phone, you will also get to see the [mobile version](https://web.archive.org/web/20110902050201/https://fastflip.googlelabs.com:80/mobile "mobile version") of the theme. I am still working on the tablet version (I only have a Kindle Fire to test it on and I don’t trust its browser to speak for all tablets).Once I finish cleaning up the GaSP source files, I will be [open sourcing](https://web.archive.org/web/20170509200824/https://www.wikinvest.com:80/concept/Open_Source "Open Source") the code, and some default themes along with it. Any, and all, feedback is welcome!
